 There are all kinds of air conditioning filters on the market. Conventional one inch fiberglass throwaway filters are the most inexpensive, but they are also the least effective. 

 Electronic filters are connected to an electrical power source and are both the most efficient and most expensive.

 There are also many other filters which falls somewhere in between ranging from the conventional 2 inch fiberglass throwaway filters, permanent mesh filters, electrostatic filters to specialized air conditioning filters that can prevent odor etc.

 People often neglect to maintain and clean their air conditioning filters and wonder why their air conditioner always fails after a while or it takes longer and longer to cool their rooms.
